La Experiencia L Li Razgo Richard Daft Download Zip Book Free .epub

This document will review a leadership book called "Leadership: The Experience of Leadership- Richard D. Daft" . How does a leader lead? What is the experience of being a leader? What are some challenges that come with being a leader? How is leadership changing in our world today and how it influences various levels of leadership at your organization? These questions and more will be explored as we look at this book by Richard D. Daft, Senior Vice President at University of Toronto . This book offers a functional approach to leadership and examines the different facets of what it means to be a leader. The author will highlight four different roles of leaders: inspirational, transactional, coaching and visionary and will base the book’s chapters based on those roles . To acquire those skills that make those four roles possible, Daft focuses on three factors that play into that equation: knowledge, skill and attitude. Additionally, he argues leaders need to be aware of their personal strengths as well as their weaknesses as they play out their roles as leaders . While this book is not exactly an autobiography about Richard D. Daft, it is filled with anecdotes from his experiences as a leader . In the second chapter , the author focuses on characteristics of a leader. He argues that leaders will need to recognize their own self-interest and be able to distinguish between their own and everyone else’s best interest. Additionally, they must be able to display character and integrity and must be more interested in people than they are in things or results . Another strength of this book is its ability to maintain an appropriate balance between the theoretical and practical aspects of leadership . The author consistently demonstrates this balance of ideas through his definitions of leadership terms and phrases. Most of the time he uses real world examples to further deepen on the concept being introduced. In chapter three, Daft defines both followers and leaders. Using a hypothetical scenario, he explains that people have roles that they play on a daily basis . He goes on to explain that there is a distinction between being an effective follower and an effective leader . Nonetheless, some may find certain parts of the book a bit tedious to read . This is probably due to the fact that Daft does not have a particularly engaging writing style . There are some errors in grammar and spelling including missing words or incorrect words being used . Almost like a textbook, it can also be a bit boring because there is no interjection of humor to the writing . Another possible shortcoming is that Daft focuses heavily on transactional leadership . He fails to provide similar weight and detail to his other three roles: inspirational, coaching and visionary . The author provides many real-life examples and stories throughout this book. Aside from the plethora of quotes and references, these examples make this book an easy read because the reader can relate to the scenarios presented. cfa1e77820
